Verifications Best Practices

The National Association of Professional Background Screeners (NAPBS), the foremost advocacy organization in the industry, has introduced a new best practices guide for employers: Verifications Best Practices: What Clients Need to Know for Successful Outsourced Verification.
"Verifications are more labor intensive than other types of background checks and require employer participation in order to be successfully completed in a timely fashion," said Tracy Seabrook, CAE, executive director of NAPBS.
"The verifications document has been created for employers who wish to outsource the process to a Consumer Reporting Agency (CRA). The CRA may not be successful in performing verifications without the assistance and cooperation of the employer, so this guide discusses some of the actions the employer can take to improve the probability of successful outsourced verifications."
